# Channel SOP — Direct outreach and warm introductions

**Use when:** the ICP is identifiable by role, company, behavior, event, directory, customer list, or founder network. Strong for validation, services, B2B, education, and marketplace cold start.

**Avoid when:** you cannot explain why this exact person fits or the plan is bulk generic volume.

## Setup

1. Define one segment: `{role} at {context} who recently {trigger}`.
2. Build 10–25 real fits from legitimate public/business context or warm contacts.
3. Choose the ask by evidence: problem interview → tailored demo/manual trial → paid audit/pilot/purchase.
4. Record the real personalization fact. Never invent familiarity.

## Message

`Saw {real trigger}. How are you handling {specific job/pain} today? I am {learning/building} for {narrow ICP}. Open to {small concrete ask}?`

Keep the first message under about 80 words, with one question. Do not send a calendar link before interest unless this audience expects it.

## Weekly cadence

- 10 researched prospects;
- 5–10 personalized first messages;
- one useful follow-up after 3–7 days;
- calls/demos with notes on exact pains, objections, commitment, and next step.

## Measure

Primary: qualified replies → conversations/demos → activation/payment. Diagnose delivery and response rate, but never call replies from poor-fit people success.

Continue if one segment/message repeatedly creates qualified next steps. Change audience, trigger, message, or ask one at a time. Stop if permission/rules prohibit contact or the offer cannot create value yet.
