Typing Skills Impacting Written Assessment Performance

Summary

Students' typing skills significantly affect their performance on written assessments, as many struggle to express their knowledge effectively due to slow typing speeds. This issue creates a barrier to demonstrating understanding, leading to frustration among educators who recognize that the problem lies not in content comprehension but in the mechanics of typing. The lack of systematic keyboarding instruction in schools exacerbates this challenge, leaving students unprepared for the demands of written assessments.
