Enterprise reliance on SMS/voice MFA faces deprecation without clear migration path, risking user lockouts and operational disruption
Organizations with thousands of users who rely on SMS/voice MFA for authentication face deprecation of these methods but cannot easily migrate to passkeys or other alternatives due to hardware and policy constraints (e.g., no TPM, no BYOD). Uncertainty about whether existing phone numbers will remain valid for authentication creates operational risk and potential lockouts. No solution exists to validate and transition phone-based authentication at scale without disrupting users or compromising security. This pain point is intense for IT admins managing large user bases and has significant financial and operational impact.
