  Students facing high-volume curricula (medical school, A-levels, multi-chapter university semesters) are trapped between two failed options: the only method that makes information stick for them — literally writing everything out — costs 4–5 hours per single topic, while reading and re-reading produces forgetting 'within seconds,' especially for students with ADD. The universally recommended fix, active recall, is not operational: a lecture with 200+ slides cannot be turned into retrieval practice by hand, and AI summarization does not solve it because the summary still has to be re-written and re-learned. Existing tools attack the wrong layer — flashcard apps require manual card authoring at a scale that is itself the bottleneck, note apps organize but do not consolidate, and summarizers compress without creating durable retrieval. The result is fear of failing out, wasted semesters, and a genuine belief that retention is a personal deficiency. No product today takes a student's own lecture slides/notes and turns them into a feasible, level-appropriate retrieval loop, which makes this a severe, high-willingness-to-pay gap.
