Multiple aliases and shifting merchant/payment names (e.g., MetaSphere Technologies, Artistic Technologies, Meta Tech) make these operations nearly impossible to vet in advance, so authors lose money, sleep, and the copyright protection they paid for, with no neutral dispute mechanism or reliable blacklist to check before paying. This is a severe, unsolved IP-protection and consumer-fraud problem specific to creative professionals, directly threatening their copyright registrations and reputation.
