• UV Mapping and Baking Is Still a Manual, Exhausting Bottleneck — Especially on Complex Curved Surfaces

  Creators describe UV unwrapping and baking as the point where a project stops being fun — "I'm tired boss" after weeks of work, with UV & baking singled out as the exhausting phase. The problem: mapping 2D artwork onto non-uniform, curved geometry requires hours of manual seam placement, island packing, stretch correction, and bake-cleanup, and every model change forces a redo. No tool reliably auto-generates clean, seam-consistent UVs for organic or paneled hard-surface shapes. This is exactly the wall Tesla wrap design hits: Tesla panels are odd-shaped, curved, and split across doors, bumpers, and seams, so artwork visibly distorts or misaligns at panel boundaries, and wrap shops/DIY designers must hand-tune UVs per model and per model-year. Existing solutions (Blender unwrap tools, Substance baking, RizomUV) still demand expert manual labor and give no guarantee that a graphic stays continuous across adjacent panels, and nothing outputs directly to a target format like Tesla Paint Shop PNGs. The frustration is intense, recurring on every project, and completely unsolved for the vehicle-wrap use case.
